The coffin of Queen Elizabeth II arrived today, Wednesday, at the Palace of Westminster in the British capital, London, where her body will be laid to rest for a final look at it by the public until the national funeral next Monday.
The coffin arrived after a march from Buckingham Palace in the presence of the late Queen’s children.
To the tunes of Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Chopin’s funeral music played by army bands, the coffin passed in front of the tens of thousands of people swarmed along the path, mostly weeping.
During this journey, which lasted about forty minutes, the coffin was draped in the royal banner and on which the imperial crown was placed.
King Charles III, his two brothers Andrew and Edward, his sister Anne, and then Princes William and Harry followed the throne.
The Queen died last Thursday, at her residence in Balmoral, Scotland, at the age of 96, after remaining on the throne of the United Kingdom for 70 years.
