Putin said that without a new turbine, gas pumping through Nord Stream would have to be reduced
Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that if Moscow does not receive a turbine for Nord Stream, then the current pumping flow of 60 million cubic meters per day will have to be halved, reports TASS.
The head of state complained that at the end of the month one more car should have been sent to carry out repair work, but this is not possible, since there is nowhere to get the repaired one. In addition, another machine was out of order, he said.
Putin also pointed out that both turbines are currently operating, pumping about 60 million cubic meters of gas daily. However, he added, if a new pipe does not come, then in the end only one will work, pumping 30 million cubic meters per day.
“There are five Siemens gas pumping stations operating there. One under repair, one was to be sent for repair. Instead, it was supposed to come from the Siemens plant in Canada, refurbished. Here she was under sanctions in Canada. One machine was out of order, because maintenance work had begun, and another station did not arrive from Canada, ”the Russian leader noted.
Earlier it became known that the European Union (EU) plans to reduce natural gas consumption by 15 percent due to fears that Russia could stop supplies.
