Daily Express: Putin warned the West how the escalation in Ukraine will end
Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a strong signal to the West about the consequences of the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine, writes the British edition of the Daily Express.
“Putin issued a stern warning to the West in connection with the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine, emphasizing that this could lead to dire global consequences,” the publication says.
Britain drew attention to Putin’s statements about NATO and Ukraine
The Daily Express clarifies that Putin’s statements about NATO and the conflict in Ukraine were made at a press conference in Tashkent. “Small countries must realize what they are playing with,” the publication quotes the Russian leader as saying. “This is a factor they should keep in mind before talking about striking deep into Russian territory.”
It is noted that Putin spoke about this after the words of French President Emmanuel Macron about the participation of French troops in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
Putin’s statement was commented on in Germany
Earlier in May, retired German general Klaus Wittmann called a bluff on Putin’s warning that small, densely populated Western countries should be careful. “We should not be impressed by these threats when he [Путин] is now talking about small, densely populated NATO countries. It would really be completely absurd if he did not achieve his goals in Ukraine (…), but started a war with NATO countries,” the retired general emphasized.
According to him, Russia’s nuclear threats are empty, since then Moscow will lose Beijing’s support.
Putin spoke about calls from NATO countries to allow Ukraine to strike Russia at the end of May
On May 28, the Russian President said that representatives of the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance must account for what they are playing with.
This is serious stuff and we are watching it very closely.
According to the leader of the Russian Federation, NATO countries, before talking about attacks deep into Russian territory, must remember that members of the alliance, as a rule, are states with a small territory and a very dense population.
