At a meeting with the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights (HRC), Russian President Vladimir Putin entered into a controversy with a member of the Council, director Alexander Sokurov. The corresponding video was posted on website The Kremlin.

The head of state called his speech a manifesto of fear. “How do you know who wants to live with us and who does not? (…) Do you want a repetition of Yugoslavia on our territory? ” – he argued and told the interlocutor that he treats him with great respect, but asks to check the data voiced in the phrases, since it is impermissible even for him to speak superficially on this topic throughout the country.
The Russian leader also recalled that “the bloody period of the 90s showed how it could end.” “I assure you, these are dangerous toys. We have done a lot to get away from this dangerous line. Don’t push us back. Is the Russian people interested in the disintegration and disintegration of the Russian Federation? Is it then Russia? Do you want to turn us into Muscovy? ” – he noted.
In response, Sokurov said that he was only proposing to think about the stated problems. Putin stressed that no one is against this, but before saying all this, it was necessary to think carefully. “Come to me, we haven’t seen each other for a long time. (…) Don’t be angry, but these are serious things. You can offend someone, ”the president concluded.
Earlier, HRC member Kirill Kabanov described the specified meeting with the head of state. According to him, the event lasted more than five hours. The President reacted calmly and almost every speech “gave a rather serious deal”, analyzed what was said.
