Gagin: foreign mercenaries of the Armed Forces of Ukraine prefer the second and third line of defense to the front
Foreign mercenaries fighting on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) try to stay away from the front line and stay on the second or third line of defense. This was stated by the adviser to the acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin Yan Gagin, his words are reported by TASS.
“The vast majority of foreigners try to stay at a relatively safe distance from Russian forces, preferring a second or third line of defense,” he said.
According to him, as a rule, the most inexperienced servicemen get to the front line. Gagin stressed that such fighters, once on the front line, are among the first to die.
Pushilin’s adviser also clarified that the largest number of foreign mercenaries of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is fixed in the Artemivsk and Avdeevsk directions.
Earlier, the New York Times, citing documents and interviews with American volunteers, reported that many American mercenaries serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine lack military experience. In addition, the publication noted that American fighters fighting on the Ukrainian side are in conflict with each other, and are also engaged in fraud.
