Ideas continue to emerge from Sony on PS5with a new patent recently discovered that it appears to point to a particular game replay system focused on “What If” scenariosthat is, intent on showing the player the consequences of different choices to be made in a game.
Discovered by OPAttack, the patent in question does not technically explain how this should work, but rather illustrates the basic idea, which is the possibility of showing a player the possible consequences of different choices played at certain times in a game. The system seems to focus primarily on competitive games, with the intent of providing advice and support for better results.
The example provided concerns, for example, a ski game in which the player obtains a not particularly satisfactory result in a half-pipe.
The system should therefore advise the player on the type of equipment to use, showing the different performances that could be obtained with this.
The example itself is rather bizarre, but by extrapolating the information we can think of some sort of assistance to the player that can indicate the better choices to do in terms of preparation and options to maximize results. The system elaborates a replay on the basis of the new data, indicating step by step to the player which choices to make to achieve the optimal result.
Also in this case we do not know if the project is actually in progress and can therefore come to fruition, but it still demonstrates a certain activity on the part of Sony in terms of design, as we have seen in recent days also with the patent on backward compatibility for accessories.
