A new system update for PS5 is available starting today: let's discover the new features introduced for the occasion by Sony designers.
PS5 received a today new system update which introduces different noveltyfrom the audio features of the DualSense controller to the interactions with the shared screen, finally arriving at the brightness of the console's power light.
Specifically, the DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers have received some improvements to the integrated speakerwhich can now play sounds at a higher volume and therefore add clarity to the voices of a possible voice chat.
Sony designers also employed theartificial intelligence for noise cancellation: the system now identifies background sounds to suppress them and thus also contribute to making voices clearer during the chat.
Of course changes to the volume of the built-in speaker may require a new adjustment of audio levels from the PlayStation 5 system settings.
Shared screen interactions
As mentioned, the PS5 update also introduces the possibility of interacting with split screen: players who view it in full screen mode they will be able to use pointers and emojis to interact with the host's gameplay.
This is a feature designed to be able to provide any suggestions to an in-game friendsending pings, drawing lines and thus highlighting specific objects or areas to reach to complete a level or overcome a challenge, then celebrating with an emoji.
The PlayStation App will also receive an update on this by the end of the month, allowing viewers to use these interactions on iOS and Android.
Adjust the PS5 power light
The latest addition to the system update is an extra option that allows to adjust the intensity of the power light of PS5, calibrating the brightness of the LED on three different levels.
To access this possibility, all you have to do is go to Settings, System, Sound and light, then select the “brightness” item and set the intensity level of the light.
