The arrival on the production lines of Alfa Romeo Tonale put it back Pomigliano d’Arco at the center of the assembly activity of the Stellantis group. The Campania plant is considered one of the most important nationally and is now aiming for the top ten within the company led by Carlos Tavares as reiterated by Pascale Chrétien, the new plant manager. She is the first woman in command of Pomigliano d’Arco, a 53-year-old French engineer who wasted no time and immediately wanted to meet the works council to discuss objectives and strategies, addressing the employees of the Campania site in Italian.
It will be up to her to manage the 4,500 employees of Pomigliano who are involved in the assembly of the Fiat Panda and the Alfa Romeo Tonale and who will soon also work on the Dodge Hornet, the twin model of the new SUV of the Biscione. Thanks to the entry of the high-wheeled car of the American brand and above all of Tonale, the working shifts should also increase, with the activation of the second shift for the new model of the Arese car manufacturer. The goal will be to remove the specter of layoffs even if the geopolitical situation and the energy crisis will not facilitate the French manager’s task.
Chrétien boasts however a long and varied experience at the helm of factories structured in Italy and France: his experience in our country in fact began in 2003, when he managed a production site for thermo stoves owned by the French company Thomson and Bultex. In 2009 he returned home as industrial director of the Dietal group and after a few years, in 2012, he entered the automotive sector with EFI, a company specializing in sensors for cars. Now the challenge of Pomigliano d’Arco with the Stellantis group, the first woman to lead the Campania factory. An experience that began by citing one of the most beloved slogans at the former FCA plant, “We are what we do”. We will see if the experienced manager will succeed in his task.
