Apparently, Gravity Rush will be the next game for PlayStation to arrive on the big screen.
According to Deadline, PlayStation Productions And Scott Free Productions have begun development of a film based on the Japan Studios action game. The direction is entrusted to Anna Mastro (Secret Society of Second Born Royals) and the screenplay to Emily Jerome (Panopticon).
Gravity Rush was released in 2012 for PlayStation Vita and centers on Kat, a girl with no memories and the ability to manipulate gravity. The girl uses these abilities to fly into the city of Heksville and defeat enemies, trying to discover her past.
This is the latest PlayStation game to be developed for the big screen since Sony launched the PlayStation Productions label. Other films and shows in the works are Twisted Metal, Ghost of Tsushima, Gran Turismo and Horizon.
There is also The Last of Us, of course, whose first preview was presented recently at the premiere of House of the Dragon, where we finally got a look at Pedro Pascal’s Joel and Bella Ramsey’s Ellie.
PlayStation Productions was founded in 2019 with the goal of adapting PlayStation video games for TV and cinema.
