We recently learned that Sony may have begun phasing out prepaid cards PS Pluswith which you could simply enter the code and activate the subscription for the duration of the service indicated on the card.
Sony hasn’t commented on the matter, but as PushSquare found out, the company has quietly launched a new series of PS Store vouchers that not only serve to top up wallet funds, but also make it a little easier for users to renew. their PS Plus Extra subscriptions for one year, as they are available in exact denominations.
PS Store gift cards are available on Amazon USA with a new brand that specifically mentions PS Plus, but they are not intended for subscription renewal only. The $ 110 card, for example, can be used to top up wallet funds or to purchase one year of PS Plus Extra ($ 110 is the cost of one year of Extra). The other denominations are $ 70, $ 55 and $ 30.
In the UK, PushSquare reports that these cards are available on sites like ShopTo and Amazon. You can buy a card for 84 pounds, equal to the price of PS Plus Extra for one year.
Some might think that this new format isn’t as simple as the old one, which allowed players to simply choose the length of service they wanted, buy the card, enter the code, and be ready to play. Sony wanted to simplify the voucher system, but perhaps some will still prefer the monthly cards separate from the PS Store wallet top-up vouchers.
