PlayStation 5 wins gold ai Good Design Award 2021, event promoted by Japanese government with the aim of rewarding the best technological products on the market, beating the competition thanks to its unique design and easy to clean.
The jury of the event, set up by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, awards the Gold Award only to a selected number of products that have been able to stand out over the course of the year.
Sony had already managed to win the coveted award in 2014 thanks to her PlayStation 4 but without receiving the Gold Award despite the jury praising the console for its immersive experiences.
The innovative 3D curved surfaces of PlayStation 5 (here you can find our review) they managed to get everyone to agree this year and the jury particularly appreciated the possibility of removing the external panels for easy and effective cleaning.
Here is the full evaluation:
Not only video games, but many other people were eager to see this product come to market and their expectations were not disappointed. The console has an iconic and emotional look, with curved surfaces and an unprecedented 3D design. Furthermore, And very easy to clean as the hardware is enclosed between two removable panels. Looking at it from the side, it does not seem to be designed for horizontal placement, however just use the support included in the package to place it correctly horizontally.
We can’t tell if the plastic body of the controller and console does not have any paint to give the whole appearance of a luxury product, however this choice simplifies the manufacturing process and is great for recycling. Ultimately, we believe that PS5 offers aspects and solutions unexplored by other products and, also thanks to these decisions, will be able to completely satisfy gamers from all over the world.
A truly prestigious award for Sony and his PlayStation 5 which wins gold by picking up the scepter left by the video conferencing software Zoom winner of the last edition.
