#51 completes the red party
From victory in 2023 to third place in 2024: the crew of Ferrari #51 it drops two steps off the podium, but completes a weekend to remember for the Scuderia from Maranello because the Hypercar 499P won again at La Sarthe with the #50 of Antonio Fuoco, Nicklas Nielsen and Miguel Molina. Below are the words of those who left the baton to their boxing companions.
Alessandro Pier Guidi: “Once again Ferrari was the best car at Le Mans. Every time we came here we showed how amazing it is. I want to congratulate my teammates – they did an amazing job. Our race was difficult but in the end we managed to get on the podium; so, it’s great to have two Ferraris in the top three. Likewise, it’s extraordinary to win two years in a row.”
Antonio Giovinazzi: “The most important compliments must go to Ferrari for having managed to win at Le Mans two years in a row. We are a fantastic team that deserves everything we are having at the moment. It’s a shame for us in 51 because we could have done better, but that’s fine: we achieved yet another podium after last year. Getting on that podium is always a great feeling, especially after such a long and difficult race like this one, with the weather and rain that kept changing. Thanks to this result we have the opportunity to get back into the fight for the championship, which is the most important thing to think about at the moment. And now all eyes on the next race.”
James Calado: “I am extremely happy for Ferrari because they achieved another victory at Le Mans, for the second year in a row. It’s a great result for the team. I am very proud of the whole team and obviously the guys in #50: they deserved this success, as they were performing and focused throughout this week. From our point of view, it was a difficult race. However, we are talking about a podium and it remains an excellent result. A first and third place for Ferrari is not a bad way to end a day at Le Mans.”
