Hat-trick for Petrux
Danilo Petrucci he is the first rider to have won in MotoGP, Superbike, MotoAmerica and Dakar and he is also the first independent rider to have achieved a hat-trick in the World Championship of production-derived motorcycles. The rider from Terni dominated in Cremona by winning Race-1, the Superpole Race and Race-2, the loot is 67 points out of the same number available, a definitive push in the Italian derby with Andrea Iannone for the ‘title’ of best independent rider at the end of the season.
“After last weekend at Magny-Cours with three podiums I didn’t think I could do better, now I can say it out loud: you can’t do better in a weekend. Doing it in a race that for the team is really an hour from home was incredible. I am very happy to have been able to give Marco Barnabò and his entire team such joy. in front of thousands of people and many sponsors and friends who support us. What else to add? It couldn’t have gone better than this”Petrucci’s words.
Immense joy also for the team manager Marco Barnabò who had already celebrated Nicholas Spinelli’s victory in Assen by choosing the right intermediate tyre: “It is an immense joy, I didn’t think it could really happen. The fruit of all these years of work in which we never stopped believing in it. With Danilo we started two years ago and at the beginning it wasn’t easy, but we always continued to work calmly and methodically. I have to say thank you to the rider, but also to all the technicians who work on the bike, on the track and at home, these results are very important for them too. And then a thank you to our sponsors who believed in this project and here in Cremona were able to enjoy the show up close and rejoice with us. However, I want to make a special dedication to my family, to my wife who follows all the logistical and financial aspects of the team, to my children, but also to my parents, especially my mother.. Unfortunately she left early and never saw the Barni team, but I am sure she would be proud. It is also thanks to their teachings that all this was possible”.
