Regarding this measure, the mayor of the province of Arequipa, Víctor Hugo Rivera, declared that “the situation is not serious like in Trujillo”, but they do not want to reach “that uncontrollable state”, which in his opinion has the third city in Peru. .
“We do not want to become another Trujillo, we are on time,” said Rivera in reference to the northern city, also declared in a state of emergency due to the increase in organized crime.
