With his skill in team play, Sergio Perez he was decisive in the 2021 World Cup. Just think of the Abu Dhabi race, where he slowed Lewis Hamilton’s pace, allowing Max Verstappen to close almost the entire gap from his rival and have more aces to play at a strategic level.
He is therefore a Perez who faces the regulatory changes with renewed confidence, with the aim of better understanding the car and – consequently – getting closer to Verstappen: “We are working on all fronts. Right now, every lap is very important and this will be the key to being as prepared as possible for the first race. From this base we will have to improve throughout the year“, Said the Mexican in the statements collected by Brand. “We’re doing a lot of aerodynamic work, and with every kilometer I feel better with the car. The cars are a bit heavier, we see it especially under braking, but cornering is similar to what we had last season, so I think we will have quite fast cars. Maybe it won’t be like that from the first Grand Prix, though“.
One last comment on the Sprints, which are three left and will be hosted by Imola, Red Bull Ring and Interlagos: “I think last year they didn’t offer much entertainment for which they created them. However, with the new rules (and the new scores, ed) I think they will be interesting“.
