Another commitment made for 2022 is the full revaluation of pensions“.” Yesterday we renewed the request to the government so that in the next few hours it will attempt an operation to further strengthen the tax advantages for employees and retirees placed in the low and medium-low income brackets “, added Sbarra.
“It was an important meeting with the government after the turmoil of recent days that put the social dialogue back on track. Now this comparison must continue in a stable way and lead to consistent results inside and outside the maneuver with an approach in our opinion of economic and financial policy that puts in place priority is given to the groups most exposed to the effects of the crisis “, Sbarra pointed out.
“It is a very important and significant step, added the secretary general of the CISL, in a difficult situation. to be able to count on a billion and a half cut in contributions for employees placed in the income bracket below 47 thousand euros, it is a first important signal that goes towards the solution of supporting and strengthening the action in support of the weaker groups “.
On the subject of the strike, he specified: It still seems premature to me. “” We have put in place in recent weeks together initiatives of struggle in the workplace and in the territories that will continue. For us the goal is to exert maximum social pressure in these hours on the Government and Parliament in an attempt to change and improve the Budget Law, making it more consistent with the proposals and the elaborations that we have presented as a union “.
Pensions, Censis: the types of families with retired parents increase
About pensions, in 2020, there were 8.7 million families with at least one pensioner (equal to 33.4% of the total), with an increase of 2.1% compared to 2019, or 177,000 more households. This is a figure in contrast to the decade prior to Covid-19 (2010-2019), when the same type of families had decreased by 249,000 units (-2.8%). This is highlighted by the Censis report published today.
Always in the period 2019-2020 retired couples with children increased by 2.7% and they became 1.2 million overall, while in the period 2010-2019 there was a negative change, equal to -26.7%. Between 2019 and 2020 there are 443,000 single-parent households with at least one pensioner, increased in twelve months by 18,000 units (+ 4.1%), compared to a decrease in the period 2010-2019 of 36,000 units (-7.8% ).
The growth of family types in which retired parents and children coexist strongly relaunches the issue of the social relevance of pensions. In fact, 69.7% of Italians think that the elderly are the ATMs of their children and grandchildren. Over time, Censis points out, the economic impact of the early retirement measures introduced in recent years will have to be assessed: in 2020 there were 291,479 advance pensions against the 269,528 old-age pensions, while in 2019 the first had been 299,416 and the old-age ones 155,625.
