Pedrosa wild card
Officially retired from MotoGP at the end of 2018 as an official rider, from the following year Dani Pedrosa embarked on a new adventure riding the KTMin this case in role of tester and tester for the Austrian team. Even today the Spaniard continues this activity, interspersed however with some returns to the track as wild cards. Last year, for example, he contested his last two races in Misano Adriatico and, before that, in the home climate of Jerez de la Frontera.
Returning to Jerez?
It could be this last circuit that welcomes the 38-year-old back in a race weekend valid for the Spanish Grand Prixscheduled from 26 to 28 April. It was not the former Honda man who admitted the good chance of seeing the winner of 31 GPs back on track, but rather the Director of KTM Motorsport, Pit Beirer.
The last word to Pedrosa
Recently interviewed by Jack Appleyard of Dorna, the Austrian manager did not at all rule out the possibility of entrusting the third official RC16 to Pedrosa for the fourth round on the calendar, i.e. when the MotoGP returns from the trip to Austin for the GP of the Americas: “I think so – responded regarding this possibility – Dani did some testing for us in Jerez, and I think he is preparing. We will never push him into a race, the final say is up to him. In the tests he seemed very strong and fast. I think he's ready. We are“.
