A few days before the deadline for the submission of signatures to carry out the Popular Legislative Initiative for the Mar Menor, the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, put his grain of sand this Saturday to reach the 500,000 necessary guarantees. The head of the national Executive stamped his signature during the celebration of the XL Federal Congress of the PSOE, which is held this weekend in Valencia. The same was done by the Minister for the Ecological Transition, Teresa Ribera, and the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, in order to obtain the 50,000 signatures that still remain.
However, there are those who reminded the President of the Government on Twitter that, despite the gesture, such signatures would not be necessary if the Executive will take a bill directly to the Congress of Deputies to give legal personality to the salty lagoon.
I get these two photos of the President and the Minister signing the @ilp_marmenor
It is a gesture of hope and I appreciate it (I hope more politicians sign in public in these 3 days) but I remind everyone that Any Party can take the PROPOSITION OF LAW to Congress and we accelerate. pic.twitter.com/KB1aS7JYzrThe Children’s Mar Menor (@NuestroMarMenor) October 16, 2021
