The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, stated this Sunday that they are going to look for “votes even under the stones” for “responsibility and conviction” so that the measures that were included in the omnibus decree that was knocked down in Congress on last Wednesday. “We are going to take these social measures no matter what,” he assured.
“From here I tell Abascal and Feijóo that, after seven years governing, it seems incredible that they do not know us. I said it during the campaign, at the investiture and I reaffirm it: I am going to look for votes even under the stones to revalue pensions, so that young people have free public transport and that those affected in La Palma and Valencia have the help they deserve and “they need,” Sánchez said at a PSOE event in the Canary Islands.
The leader of the PSOE has focused his criticism on PP and Vox, which he has called a “denialist coalition”, and has not cited Junts, which also voted against the royal decree law in Congress. “They deny the revaluation of pensions, they deny free public transportation and they deny aid to those affected by DANA (…) Some deny climate change and the other [por Feijóo] What he does is deny being president, he says that he is not president because he doesn’t want to,” criticized Sánchez, who has also attacked the PP for voting against the decree with the increase in pensions and then collecting signatures so that they are revalued. “There is no where to take it,” he said.
“We are going to look for votes even under the rocks out of responsibility and conviction so that people have their rights, the rights that PP and Vox have curtailed,” he insisted. In an interview with elDiario.es, the Minister of Justice, Félix Bolaños, assured that they were already in talks to move forward with the decree law. “What we are looking for is to guarantee that the day we approve the decree law it will have a majority in Parliament to be approved and that is why we are already in talks. We are already working with the parliamentary groups to move forward with the decree law. It is not so important that we can have a few days to work, but it is important that we guarantee that this ‘no’ from the Popular Party and others to overthrow the decree and, therefore, lower the pensions of our pensioners, does not happen again,” he stated.
