Mazarrón's 'Shark' continues to impress in his MotoGP debut. This Saturday, Pedro Acosta achieved second position in the United States Grand Prix classification, his best result in the first three races of this season. He was only surpassed by the Girona driver Maverick Viñales, who shattered the record at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin (Texas) to claim the seventeenth pole position of his career.
The driver from Figueras beat Acosta, only 19 years old, by three tenths, who will start from the front row for the first time in his career in the premier category. For his part, Marc Márquez (Ducati-Gresini), six-time MotoGP champion, will start from third place on the grid at a circuit where he has won seven times.
The second row will be occupied by the two-time Italian world champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), his teammate and compatriot Enea Bastianini (Ducati) and the current championship leader, the Spanish Jorge Martín (Ducati-Pramac). The top-10 was completed by the Spanish Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia) and the Italians Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati-VR46), Franco Morbidelli (Ducati-Pramac) and Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati-VR46).
