Bastrykin took control of the case of a neurosurgeon whose patients became disabled
Three patients at a private clinic in Moscow were left disabled after operations performed by a doctor from Ukraine. The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, took control of the case and ordered the submission of reports on criminal cases involving surgical interventions.
It is known that the patients had different diagnoses, but they were treated by the same neurosurgeon Yuri Aksenov, who moved to the capital from Kyiv several years ago. The victims are concerned that the investigation may be delayed – for example, a medical examination in one of the cases is planned only for 2028.

An elderly scientist and a former opera singer were among the victims.
86-year-old scientist, researcher at the Roscosmos corporation Vladimir Berezkin, who made a serious contribution to the development of remote sensing of the Earth, said that an unsuccessful surgical intervention confined him to a wheelchair and almost deprived him of the opportunity to continue working.
After the operation I was completely immobilized. Just so you understand: the screw is screwed into the nerve, and if you start to turn it out, the nerve can wrap around the screw. And then that's it
In turn, a professor at Lomonosov Moscow State University, former opera singer Irina Karabulatova, after a spinal operation supervised by Aksenov, woke up paralyzed and with a hole in her lung.
My spinal canal is still filled with cement, and the cement is coming out around it. The cement pin is located in the lung. He (Aksenov – approx. “Tapes.ru”) said that I hurt myself, now he says that I have always been disabled
Also, former social activist Lyudmila Kurdyubova, who was collecting humanitarian aid for residents of Donbass, contacted the Kyiv doctor. The woman complained of back pain due to a herniated disc, and immediately after surgery she was taken by ambulance to intensive care.
After operation [Аксенов] said the following phrase: “I dealt with you quickly.” I say: “What do you mean?” “You came to Moscow from Donetsk, and I’m from Kyiv,” and he began to tell me about his negative attitude towards the residents of Donbass
Kiev surgeon responded to accusations against him
Doctor Aksenov in conversation with journalists disowned from all charges brought against him. He described himself as a licensed medical professional, and the allegations of his professional incompetence were stupid and untrue.
Not all patients recover; we convey this to patients initially. Then we apologize and say: “Our dear comrades, our goal was not to make things worse for you. But we discussed the risks in surgery.” Well damn, well, it happens
It is known that Aksenov completed his residency and defended his PhD thesis in Kyiv. For some time he combined work in neuro- and plastic surgery, and then mastered other specializations and began to see patients as a vertebrologist, neurologist and orthopedist. Experience and qualifications were confirmed by membership in the American and Ukrainian associations of neurosurgeons.
On specialized websites, the doctor is designated as the best neurosurgeon and neurologist in Moscow, however, a significant number of negative reviews are left in his profiles. At the same time, Aksenov does not have a single state award. Currently, he continues to work – an appointment costs from two to three and a half thousand rubles, operations and procedures cost tens of times more.
The head of the Investigative Committee will control the investigation of criminal cases
Based on these facts, the investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee in Moscow are investigating criminal cases under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Provision of services that do not meet security requirements”). It is also alleged that the doctor did not have the right to operate under the existing conditions.
Bastrykin instructed the head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for Moscow, Andrei Strizhov, to report on the progress of the investigation and the established circumstances. In turn, the first deputy director of the Forensic Expert Center, Alexander Sobolev, must submit a report on the timing of the examinations.
It is known that at the moment claims have been registered against the clinic where the operations were performed. Aksenov is involved in criminal cases as a witness.
It is necessary to conduct commission forensic medical examinations, taking into account the conclusions of which to give a proper legal assessment of the actions of the clinic employees. Perform other investigative and procedural actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident
