You can’t always agree. But one passenger didn’t like the behavior of the woman sitting next to him. He found his vendetta original.
Munich – Dozens, sometimes hundreds of people meet in a confined space, often for many hours. If you think about it, a passenger plane is the perfect breeding ground for discussions and a lot of quarrelling. Someone in the row is constantly wanting to go to the toilet, the person in front of you is leaning back so far that he could practically travel on your lap and the person behind you is constantly kicking you in the back.
Travelling by plane can quickly become a seemingly endless ordeal. One passenger can tell you all about it. On the social media platform Reddit he shared his experiences – aptly in the group “petty revenge”.
Up, down, up, down – dispute over airplane windows gets out of control
However, not everyone is thrilled about the tormented passenger’s sweet act of revenge. But first things first. The Reddit user had sat by the window on a short domestic flight to enjoy the view. A popular seat, as anyone who has ever flown knows. However, he had not reckoned with his seat neighbor: Without asking him, she leaned over him and pulled down the window blind – several times.
“She never asked me; she just reached right in front of me. I immediately opened it again and a few minutes later she reached in front of me again to close it,” the increasingly exasperated passenger reported online. The flight was at noon, so there was no reason to insist on darkness. The Reddit user’s post does not reveal which airline he flew with or where he was going.
Passenger loses his temper – “Book a window seat on your next flight”
The passenger did not want to accept the intrusive darkening in silence. He took out a book, switched on the reading light and adjusted his watch so that the reflection blinded the declared enemy of flying – for about an hour. But his personal vendetta did not end there.
After landing, the woman took off her headphones. The Reddit user took advantage of the moment and said: “Book a window seat on your next flight if you want to control the window. Or at least treat me like a human and ask me before invading my personal space. What you did is incredibly rude.”
Apparently still not satisfied with his thirst for revenge, he stopped abruptly in front of the woman several times as he was leaving the plane to block her. He also admitted to subtly giving her the middle finger. Not so much, like a man on a Lufthansa flighthowever, he did not lose his temper. Another person took revenge on the person sitting next to him in a similarly underhanded wayr, which had spread out quite a bit.
“Human shit behavior” – Not every fan of the revenge action on the plane
Many of the Reddit users agreed in the comments section: whoever sits by the window controls the airplane window. The person sitting next to them should have asked. “In what universe does anyone touch the window, let alone multiple times, without asking, over you?” asked one user. “Seriously, I think people leave their brains at home when they travel. This is just confusing.”
When it comes to the retaliation, however, there is less unanimity. Some paid tribute to the passenger for his behavior: “The clock trick was a stroke of genius,” commented one person. Others, however, felt that he had gone too far: “You both sound unbearable! Welcome to society. You two could have talked to each other,” commented one user.
“Blinding someone with your watch for hours is shitty human behavior.” Another user added: “People like you go through life seething and shining a light in people’s eyes instead of communicating at all costs.” Blessed is the one who is lucky enough to travel alone, like one man who had an entire passenger plane to himself.
