For those who wish to enter the hospitality market, Diageo, owner of the brands Johnnie Walker, Tanqueray, Smirnoff, Old Parr, among others, is offering 400 places on a free bartending training and service excellence course through the Learning program for Life. Registration for the online course will be open until May 8th and can be done via link.
People over the age of 18 who are studying or have completed high school, unemployed or with an income of up to two minimum wages can register, as long as they have access to a computer or smartphone with an internet connection.
“Learning for Life is an excellent opportunity for those who want to enter the hospitality market, looking for a new job opportunity or dreaming of opening their own business”, says Gabriel Prudlik, head of ESG at Diageo Brasil.
Data from the Brazilian Association of Bars and Restaurants (Abrasel), released in January this year, indicate that the bar and restaurant sector created 170 thousand jobs in 2023, which adds up to 5.5 million workers. Growth last year was 3.3%, above the national average of 0.9%.
In Brazil since 2000, Learning for Life has also expanded throughout Latin America and grown to the United States, Europe, Africa and Asia.
