With Find X5 pro Oppo tries to distance itself from a panorama of high-end smartphones all very similar to each other, starting from the design. The first thing that catches the eye holding the device in your hand, generous in size but still handy and light (with only 8.5 mm thick and 218 grams in weight) are the sinuous lines and the continuity between the chassis and the rear camera module, which is the real star here. The Chinese company has created a resistant body in real ceramic, and whether it is the white or black version it will be impossible not to appreciate the curves of the smartphone. A concentrate of technology under the body: Find X5 Pro mounts the new four-nanometer Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, which in the road test proves to be snappy, without jamming and at the height of the most extreme performances. In our extended test we never noticed that it warmed up or struggled to process demanding tasks, including the most performance-hungry video games. This also happens because the main CPU is assisted by MariSilicon X, the real star of the package, an NPU totally dedicated to photos and videos which allows you to always shoot clear images even at night and 4K videos even in the dark, thanks also to the help of artificial intelligence that intervenes in real time to improve shots and filming.
The camera sector is remarkable, thanks also to the collaboration with Hasselblad for optics: The wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle cameras are both equipped with 50MP Sony IMX766 sensors, with a sensor size of 1 / 1.56 “and 2um pixel binning. In addition, the wide-angle camera also features a system of five-axis stabilization which improves with each use to counteract flickering, reduce noise and make scenes sharper. The front camera is 32 megapixels. In general, you get photos that are always at the top both in the dark and in bright light, with excellent macro and zoom which is generally effective and does not miss a beat. If photography is your passion, undoubtedly Find X5 Pro is one of the best performing camera phones on the market, able to rival the iPhone 13 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra without too many thoughts.
Find X5 Pro’s display boasts one 6.7-inch LTPO2 AMOLED screen with a WQHD + 3216 x 1440 resolution and 100 percent coverage of the P3 color gamut. Find X5 Pro’s 10-bit screen displays more than a billion colors. The screen is curved on the sides but not excessively: it excellently conveys the idea of the continuous line of the design, in which display and chassis merge. The dimensions are important: 6.7 inches, with the camera hole in the upper left and an image ratio of 20: 9, with 525ppi of density and 89.6 percent ratio between the screen and the body of the smartphone. On the display there is a film already applied, but it is still protected by the very resistant Gorilla Glass Victus. The fluidity of the display is adaptive, and goes from 1 to 120Hz depending on the context. We always found it fluid and ready to respond to the slightest touch, complete with selectable always on. Unlocking takes place both with face recognition and with a fingerprint reader under the screen, which is always revealed quickly as soon as you touch or lift the phone. It is possible to act on the display and its resolution to save battery, which in any case leads to the end of the day even with intensive use: a Li-Po 5000 mAh with 80W SuperVooc technology. The charger included in the package allows you to recharge from zero to 50 percent in 12 minutes. With 50W wireless charging you get to 100 percent in 47 minutes. The phone also has 10W wireless reverse charging: by placing any compatible device on the back, it will recharge it.
Internal memory is 256GB non expandable with 12GB of RAM, and comes with custom Android 12 in ColorOS 12.1 system software with full access to the Google Play Store. Furthermore the phone is dual SIM, both physical and with support for 5G in both slots. In terms of connectivity we find WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, Android Auto and USB-C with video output. Also noteworthy is the game mode, since the smartphone proves to be excellent for running even the most powerful titles to the maximum. Ultimately, Find X5 Pro is a top of the range that does not hold back when it is time to flex its muscles, intended for design lovers but above all for those of photography who want a complete and versatile phone that does not spare itself from any point of view. Not surprisingly, the list price is not the cheapest: 1,299 euros, which are however mitigated by the bundled offers that Oppo has designed for early adopters. Until April 24, in fact, by purchasing the phone it is possible to receive the Enco X wireless headphones, the Oppo Watch Free smartwatch, a 50W wireless charging base and a cover included in the price, for a total commercial value of 406 euros.
