10.4% of companies that have with ten or more employees in the Galician community uses artificial intelligence (AI), two points less than the Spanish average of 12.4%, according to data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) relating to the first quarter of 2024.
The communities with the greatest use of Artificial Intelligence by companies are Madrid (17.8%), Catalonia (15.3%) and the Basque Country (12.7%). This is clear from the results of the ‘Survey on the use of ICT and electronic commerce in companies’.
Of the total number of companies with an Internet connection, the percentage of those that have a website or web page in Galicia it is 81.4%four tenths less than 81.8% of the country. Likewise, 58.6% of Galician companies with an Internet connection use social media, far from the 64.7% of the state average.
Other data from the Galician companies means that 31.5% use cloud services (37.7% in Spain). In addition, 27.4% use data analytics (31.4% in Spain), and 87.5% have remote access to email, documents or company applications (88.6% in Spain), while that 90.6% have some ICT security measure (91.3% in Spain).

He 34.1% of companies in the region of 10 or more employees allows teleworking by its employees in the first quarter of 2024, a rate that rises to 37.5% in the country as a whole. That percentage rises in Spain at 80.4% for companies with 250 employees or more.
