Two-time Olympic triathlon champion Alistair Brownlee is ending his career. “It’s time to end this chapter,” the 36-year-old Brit wrote on social media. “Why now? It feels right. I’m happy and content, excited about what lies ahead.”
Brownlee was one of the most successful triathletes over the Olympic distance, winning gold at the Summer Games in 2012 and 2016, and was long one of the biggest competitors of 2008 Olympic champion and three-time Ironman world champion Jan Frodeno.
