After the EQS, the Mercedes EQE now also passes the AMG workshops in Affalterbach. And the home tuner prepares not one, but immediately two sport variants of the electric travel sedan. The Mercedes-AMG EQE 43 4Matic relies on two electric motors (with special AMG updates to the rear electric motor) with a system output of 476 hp and a combined maximum torque of 858 Nm. The Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4Matic+ produces 626 hp and 950 Nm. Or even 687 hp and 1,020 Nm if you opt for the optional AMG Dynamic Plus package.
The Mercedes-AMG EQE 43 sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, an exercise that the Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 completes in 3.5 seconds. Or in 3.3 seconds in the case of the version with AMG Dynamic Plus package. The top speed of the electric sports saloons is electronically limited to 210 km/h, with AMG Dynamic Plus the EQE 53 reaches 240 km/h. Both the Mercedes-AMG EQE 43 and EQEZ 53 rely on a battery pack with a capacity of 90.6 kWh, which translates into a WLTP range of 462 to 533 and 444 to 518 kilometers respectively. The electric sports saloons come standard with an internal 11 kW AC charger, although you can also order a 22 kW one. The maximum charging power (DC) is 170 kW.
Carbon ceramic brakes
Both the Mercedes-AMG EQE 43 and the EQE 53 have a sports suspension that combines air suspension with the adaptive damping system AMG Ride Control+. To further improve the driving dynamics, the engineers from Affalterbach also worked on the rigidity of the chassis, on the calibration of the different drive programs of the AMG Dynamic Select and on the brakes, which are adapted to the additional engine power. Optionally, you can also order these AMG models with carbon ceramic copies. The otherwise optional four-wheel steering comes as standard, just like a specific AMG Sound Generator that provides a sporty sound.
You have to look closely to distinguish the AMG versions from the regular Mercedes EQE models with optional AMG Line. The Black Panel front features vertical slats and the bumpers get some aerodynamically sound addenda, the AMG modifications don’t go much further. Inside you will find, among other things, a sports steering wheel flattened at the bottom, AMG sports seats and a lot of red design keys. The Mbux Hyperscreen is available as an option and comes with a lot of specific AMG menus and displays.
