Imola hosted the Italian Grand Prix in 1980, since 1981 it has been home to the famous San Marino Grand Prix and hosted a total of 27 races until 2006. It returned as the home of the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in 2020.“, This is what is stated in the press release.
In recent months, the president of the Emilia-Romagna Region Stefano Bonaccini had already announced the government’s ok to a race on the Santerno circuit until 2025. On this basis, negotiations with Formula 1 were conducted, now officially completed.
