Waiting to know the number of Spanish teams that will play European competition next season, one of those who holds that honor is Rayo Vallecano. In sixth position, Vallecanos visit the almighty Barcelona on Monday (21.00, Movistar+) Knowledgeable … that they will maintain their privilege position, at least one more week. Despite this, Jorge de Frutos (Navars of Enmedio, Segovia, 1997), at a great level in the second year of his second stay in Vallecas, does not want to hear about Europe and wants to close the goal of permanence as soon as possible.
– How do you feel to see ray in Europe, sixth classified?
– It is a little the work we have been doing throughout the season. A daring ray is being seen, at home we are getting the victories with our fans and when we leave home we also put things difficult. A competitive ray is being seen. At the moment we are very good, we hope to continue in this line.
-What do you feel when you notice the illusion of the fans and listen to the song that has become so popular, ‘next year Rayo-Liverpool’?
– Whenever we play at home it is a plus, the fans are always encouraging. The game against Girona we start losing and they on each occasion we created generate you to continue trying victory. In the end we go back the game. The hobby is one of the most important values of lightning and is being demonstrated.
– I understand that they give the goal of permanence by closed …
–The main objective remains permanence. It is true that we already have 35 points, which at this point are a lot of points, but we still have nothing done. First we have to reach that goal and once it is already, mathematically or virtually, to look a little more.
– How is the job to keep your feet on the floor and not go crazy thinking about Europe?
–The Mister transmits it to us. We have to be aware that in the end the goal of the club is permanence. Once we get it, as you said, with your feet on the ground, continue working in each game, continue working during the week here and do what the coach asks us. When the season is over, we will see where we have finished and hopefully it is as high as possible.
– Did you affect the costumes all the noise generated by the arrival, stay and exit of James?
– We with James in the locker room were very comfortable. It was one more. The treatment we had with him was very cordial, as with all the companions. He came to add and for different causes he has not continued with us. I wish you the best, but in the end we have to continue with this good streak that we are already having what we achieve this year.
– What is special and different from the ray and the Vallecas neighborhood?
–It is a special club. For me the most special is the stadium, the fans. It is a neighborhood club, it’s like being at home. I come from a very small town of Segovia, from Navaries of Enmedio, and in the end it is a bit of the values that are transmitted in the neighborhood, in the small villages. Of work, of humility, of being all together as a pineapple inside the locker room. We are a large group. I think it is also something that is then seen inside the field. If outside the field the team is a pineapple, it is along with the fans, along with the coach, all united, in the end in the field things come out well.
– What changes did you notice in the club of your first stage to the second?
– The club follows the same essence a bit, it is true that I have coincided with some colleagues with whom I was already in my previous stage. The most important thing is that it is very humble, it is a club that knows where it is. He has had many years in the Second Division and we know that the club has to do is continue another year in First, to achieve permanence as soon as possible. That is the great value of the ray, which in the end goes step by step. He is doing things well and we are doing a great season.
– What has changed between the fruits that left and the one who returned?
– About all the experience. When I came here to Rayo in Second, I was coming six months in the Valladolid in which I could not contribute what I would have liked, I was not playing much. I came here second, but in the end I came without first experience. I went to Levante three years. In the end they are two years in Primera, that you get a little more experience, a little more matches, especially in the first and second. Experience and years within the field are also noticed. You decide better in individual plays, as a person you also try to generate more sympathy within the locker room, so to speak.
– Was Return felt pressure for having been the second most expensive signing in the history of the club?
– I did not have. It is true that you have to mark it as a player. I came from an injury that I had in Levante, a year in second in which it cost me starting. And it is true that last year here in Vallecas it cost me starting. But well, first it is a very competitive league, very fast and what cost me a little more at the beginning was to have that level that I had demonstrated in the Levant before the injury. This year, from the preseason with Iñigo [Pérez]we have been working and I think that Jorge that I want to be is being seen.
– How was your childhood in a town of just 100 inhabitants?
– I lived with my parents and my older brother. And then there were three more boys, who were brothers. We played in the town, during the week we went out to the pediment. Then on weekends more children from Madrid came to the town and we could ride a slightly bigger game. I started playing in Sepúlveda in Cadet Age because before there were no teams in smaller categories around. After Sepúlveda I went to Cantalejo, which was another category in all of Castilla y León. I did a good year and the last year of Juvenile I have already come here, to Rayo Majadahonda. I have a great year of youth and from there I pass the first team of the Majadahonda ray.
–How was the day to day in Navares of Enmedio?
– I went to school until five in the afternoon, then I arrived at my house, I picked We went out to play football, pediment or ‘front-tanis’. We had to vary sports a little so as not to get bored, but in the end it is like the life of any child. In a town you have a little more freedom. Being playing with my brother or friends in the front of the town is the essence that I have taken, not as if it were in a quarry from a very young age, which is a bit more automated.
–It was playing in increasingly large villages until it arrived in Madrid. How was it going from his home in Navares to a big city?
– In my town I lived in my house. The first year I come home from a sister of my mother, from my aunt. They welcome me at home, I am there and the truth is that it was great support. Being my first year in Madrid, I had to take a bus to go training, I had the ease that I arrived home at eleven o’clock at night, but I had the dinner done. I was not alone in a house in Madrid, so I would have cost me much more. The truth is that I have to thank my uncles because thanks to them they made me everything much easier.
–That ascending with the Majadahonda ray, resigned to play in Second for signing for Madrid Castilla. Because?
–My first year at the Majadahonda ray is true that I don’t play practically anything. I was coach Antonio Iriondo and, although I don’t play anything, I decide to stay all year and learn. The following year, when we ascend to Second, I play everything, I already had the bases that he had taught me as a coach. In the end they are trains that you have to take. It was playing in Second with the Majadahonda ray or going to one of the best quarries in the world to continue learning, to continue training, which was what I needed at that time. In the end I was twenty years old. If I had stayed in the Majadahonda ray, the goal that the club had would be to stay in Second. It didn’t matter who played, if I or another end. I knew that in Real Madrid they were going to continue forming me, I was going to be surrounded by people with a lot of level and I think the step it was successful.
– Is that Madrid does not take out the entire game that could its quarry?
– Real Madrid is a great club, it will always be full of big players, world top players. More and more players are leaving the first team. In the end it is difficult to reach the first Real Madrid team because there is a lot of quality in all its positions. But it is true that Asencio has come out, now there is Fran García, who agreed with him in Castilla. Now a good number of players are coming out. The quarries are for that, to try to help the first team when possible. I did not have the option to debut with the first team, I was training with them, but they help you to play in Primera.
– What differences between competing in a club and a subsidiary in Second B, in terms of pressure and everything that encompasses?
– What I told you before, pressure is the one that each player wants to put. But I think we were the fourth or the fifth lowest budget of the entire second B in the Majadahonda ray. We did very good season and played very well. You see yourself in the positions above and generate illusion in the fans. With the Majadahonda ray I have very good memories with the template, but also with the fans. In all the displacements there were people. When things are going well, it’s nice to see the fans. It is true that then in Real Madrid Castilla, being an equal subsidiary you do not have so much pressure within the field, of the fans, so to speak, because the same will see less people. Although it is true that you are representing Real Madrid and it is what I tell you. You have to put the fair pressure that you want to put yourself to perform.
– What do you have to do to complicate Barcelona, a team that has been playing so well?
– We have been working very well throughout the week. We have also been analyzing through videos where we can harm them, but hey, I think we have to have our essence. We will try to remove the ball in some stretch of the game, have a high pressure and, above all, try to harm them the back or when we can steal a ball, try to score goal. We know that he is a great rival, they are in a good time, but we have to take advantage of our options and make a great game, because it is not very difficult to scratch any point.
–Well, how Palmas and Leganés played in Barcelona to win, is it smarter to lock themselves or try to remove the ball?
– We, because of our essence, if we lock ourselves and only defend, I think we will end up losing the game. We like to play with the advanced line, in high pressure. It is true that they, because of the quality they have, will come out and will have to be in a low block. But we will try the most of the game to generate danger and try to do the things we have been working during the week to try to get victory.
