New anti-Russian sanctions by the West will be lifted if Russia stops the special operation in Ukraine, said US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland, writes TASS.
She called the conditions for the termination of restrictive measures. “Sanctions will end if Russia ends this war and helps rebuild Ukraine,” she said. According to the politician, Moscow must restore peace, recognize the sovereignty, territorial integrity of the state and its “right to exist.”

In this regard, Nuland expressed the opinion that the Russian side actually denies “the very right of Ukraine to exist.”
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered an address to the nation in which he announced the start of a special military operation in the Donbass. He referred to requests for military assistance from the heads of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DNR and LNR).
