It is also taking part in the 2024 edition of CES in Las Vegas Hyundaiwhich as announced in recent days is present at the event to reveal its vision of hydrogen energy and software solutions beyond mobility. “We at Hyundai believe that science and humanity are two sides of the same coin – explained Jay Chang, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company – Advanced technology must also improve people's lives. Clean hydrogen should be for everyone, to power everything, and available everywhere.”
Focus on hydrogen
In the future, Hyundai will focus more and more efforts on innovation for the production, storage, transportation and use of hydrogen. For this reason, precisely on the occasion of CES, the Korean giant underlined the expansion of HTWO from a simple company dedicated to fuel cell systems to a real business for the entire hydrogen value chain of the group. Not only that: Hyundai has also announced its intention to purchase 3 million tons of hydrogen per year by 2035. That the Asian company has certain ambitions on hydrogen is nothing new: only in recent days it revealed that it had signed an agreement together with KIA and Gore for the joint development of electrolytic polymer membranes for fuel cells, with the aim of developing an advanced PEM for in the long term Next generation hydrogen electric commercial vehicles.
Software and artificial intelligence
As for software, however, Hyundai's ambition is to build a user-centric mobility ecosystem through artificial intelligence, another pillar of the future of mobility according to the company. Hyundai's strategy in this sense is defined “Software-defined Everything”, or SDx, and aims to transform all devices, fleets and mobility ecosystems into valuable assets thanks to advanced software and AI. Hyundai's desire to create Software Defined Vehicles, better known as, is part of this same strategy SDVincorporating software development methods into the study of new vehicles. “The ultimate goal is to create a concept called 'Cloud Transportation' where software, AI-defined devices and mobility come together to create a mobility ecosystem where transportation is easily accessible to all”says the Korean giant.
Also for corporate fleets
“As a mobility solutions provider, our vision goes beyond vehicles – added Chang Song, President and Head of the SDV Division of the Hyundai Motor Group – It's about making a true mobility ecosystem possible. For us, movement is a new source of knowledge and innovation, and our solutions and devices make this knowledge universally useful.” Last, but not least, Hyundai wants to expand software solutions for management company fleets. All this, and more, is the company's focus at CES 2024 in Las Vegas.
