South Korea’s intelligence service confirmed on Thursday that the launch of its northern neighbor’s spy satellite had been successful and accused Russia of helping North Korea with the launch. According to the intelligence service, Russia had offered feedback to North Korea after the country had provided Russia with information about the first two launch attempts. United States has condemned the launch of the satellite as a gross violation of UN sanctions. South Korea, on the other hand, partially suspended the 2018 military cooperation agreement with its neighboring country and announced that it would resume intelligence activities on the border between the two countries.

China did not condemn the satellite launch, but called on all parties to show restraint in the “complex situation on the Korean Peninsula”.
