The UAE was not only a forerunner in combating discrimination and hatred as values, approaches, principles and societal behavior, but it was also one of the first countries to address this phenomenon legislatively. And the rejection of hate speech, as its capital Abu Dhabi in 2019 was the starting point for the Human Fraternity Document that urges peace among people in the world.
They are Emirati constants that stand firmly against extremism and call for coexistence and acceptance of the other and spread the culture of dialogue, tolerance and peace.. These constants are renewed with the first international celebration of the International Day for Combating Hate Speech, which falls on June 18, after the world realized the seriousness of this discourse and its role in igniting and fueling conflicts. Especially in light of the digital revolution and its use of weak-minded people to spread hate speech in various global societies.
More than 200 nationalities in the country live within a value and legislative system based on tolerance, justice, and respect for religions and cultures. The state also stands with the international community to confront the discourse of discrimination and hatred by supporting international initiatives, and renews its permanent position rejecting any of these negative manifestations that threaten peace It affirms in its fifty principles its support for all initiatives, pledges and international organizations that call for peace, openness and human fraternity.
