Video game events have been affected for a couple of years now, specifically since the 2020 pandemic occurred, as this event would be the announced death of the greatest of all, we are talking about Electronic Entertainment Expo. And although the latter no longer exists, there are associations that have known how to adapt to the situation to survive, and that was the case of Gamescom, the Cologne, Germany which continues to be developed for the enthusiastic users of this industry.
One of the largest companies in the business has attended these events, Nintendo, who has basically not missed these exhibitions, showing games that have just been released on the market or that are about to be put on store shelves. However, it is well known that this 2024 The Japanese company has nothing to show, and therefore, this is going to have repercussions, as happened with its February live that had to be reduced to one of partners, without having the presence of its own games.
As stated in a statement issued to the German publication Games Wirtschaft , a company spokesperson said it would not be an exhibitor at this summer's event. Something that is not 100% confirmed, but that makes sense at the end of the day, since they have nothing to launch after the month of June with Luigi's Mansion 2 HD. And this would directly point to the fact that the rumors of the launch of the next console turned out to be real, since everything pointed to it being in stores in 2024 and now it would come out in 2025.
Here is a longer description of the event:
Gamescom is one of the largest video game trade shows in the world and is held annually in Cologne, Germany. It is known for being a key event for the video game industry, where developers, publishers, players and media gather to see and present the latest games and technologies. Gamescom serves as a platform for companies to showcase new products, including hardware, software and accessories.
Gamescom began in 2009 as the successor to the Leipzig Games Convention. Since then, it has grown in size and popularity, attracting visitors from all over the world. The event is organized by the Bundesverband Interaktive Unterhaltungssoftware (BIU), now part of the Association of the German Video Game Industry (game).
Gamescom is crucial for the industry for several reasons. It is a meeting place for the gaming community and industry professionals, offers an opportunity for the media to extensively cover the most important news and releases, and allows developers to obtain direct feedback from players. Additionally, many companies choose Gamescom to make important announcements and release trailers or demos of their most anticipated games.
Remember that the expo will take place from August 21 to 25.

Editor's note: It was evident that they were not going to be present, since they do not have anything to show to the fans, unless they bring demos of games that are already on sale at that time. Anyway, it is very possible that 2025 will be the explosion for Nintendo, more than anything because of the new console.
