Along with this information, Shuntaro Furukawa, president of the Japanese company, He talked a little more about what we can expect from this new hardware, and about the type of console the Switch 2 will become.
During a meeting with shareholders, Furukawa mentioned that the successor to his current console is considered “the next model of the Switch.” At the same time, the president of Nintendo pointed out that the company remains committed to providing users with unique and original experiences. This is what he said about it:

Thus, Furukawa makes it clear that the Switch 2 is an evolution of the concepts seen with the Switch, and they will continue with the same philosophy when developing games and bringing experiences to the public. This is something that multiple reports and rumors have pointed out in the past. Instead of seeing a substantial change in hardware, the evolution that Nintendo will present to us will be similar to what PlayStation and Xbox have done with their respective pieces of hardware.
While this is expected, if the console’s design looks identical, or very similar, to what we currently have on the Switch, Wii U history will likely repeat itself, and Some people don’t see the Switch 2 as the next generation of Nintendo, but as a review of current hardware. In this way, the Big N has to be very clear with the way it presents its next console. On related topics, you can learn more about the official reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2 here. Author’s Note:
Nintendo has to play its cards right when revealing its next console. From a technical perspective, yes, the Switch 2 will be different hardware than what we see today, but if the design turns out to be the same, or very familiar, many people may become confused and only a percentage of the more than 140 million Of people who already have a Switch, only a percentage would be willing to buy the new console.
