PSG is preparing for the first leg of the round of 16 against Real Madrid and one of the great unknowns in the French team is whether Neymar would recover in time for the clash. The last training session invites optimism.
Neymar completed Monday’s session along with the rest of his teammates at Camp des Loges and could enter the squad list to face the whites.
The Brazilian seems to have already recovered from his injury and if he enters the squad, it will be necessary to see if Pochettino gives him minutes since he hasn’t set foot on the pitch for more than two months. The logical thing would be for him not to start and have minutes in the second half.
Neymar suffered a sprained ankle on November 28 and has not played since then. In principle, the period of absence estimated by the French club was 7 to 8 weeks, so his reappearance was scheduled for the beginning of February. The club did not want to take risks and he was left out of the squad in the last Ligue 1 game against Lille.
The only absence from training was Sergio Ramos, who is ruled out for the game and will therefore have to wait for the second leg to face his old team. The rest of the players in the squad are at Pochettino’s disposal.
