An earthquake of magnitude 4.7 was recorded in New Jersey according to the American geophysical institute, Usgs. The tremors were also felt in New York City. Earthquake also felt in the Boston and Philadelphia areas. The earthquake caused a brief interruption in the work of the UN Security Council, which met to discuss the situation in the Middle East. The USGS reported an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.7, located near Lebanon, New Jersey, about 90 km west of New York City and 100 km north of Philadelphia. The New York Fire Department said there were no initial reports of damage. In midtown Manhattan, the scared people in cars started honking their horns. Buildings shook in neighborhoods in Brooklyn and the East Village.
