The echoes of the scandal involving the president of the Colombian Football Federation continue, Ramon Jesurunin Miami, after the Copa América final, when he was arrested along with his son, on July 14.

The scandal began after Argentina’s victory against Colombia, when a fight broke out involving the Jesurúns and stadium security personnel.
Both were arrested by the local police and had to testify before a judge, dressed in orange and handcuffed.
The controversy has not stopped, since due to what happened, not only will Ramón Jesurún, 71 years old, have to appear at a new hearing on August 14, but he also runs the risk of losing his visa for the United States, which would affect his managerial career, taking into account the dispute of the next World Cup in that country, along with Mexico and Canada.
In the only public statements Jesurún has made, he said: “This credential says full access and a security guard who wants to act important ignored it, pushed me and a ridiculous uproar broke out. I didn’t hit anyone.”
The FCF then issued a statement in which it said that Jesurún reacted in defense of his son: “Ramón Jesurún, driven by his paternal instinct, since one of the complainants and later restrained by the guards was his son Ramón Jamil, rushed to complain about what had happened but ended up overwhelmed by the situation, finding himself in the hallway with his wife, sons, daughters and underage grandchildren.”
New video of the arrest
Now new images of what happened have come to light. The program Fox 7 News publishes a report in which it reviews everything that happened, and shows previously unknown images of the moment of Ramón’s arrest.
In the images, captured by a body camera of one of the officers, the police can be seen arresting and handcuffing the leader, while he screams and struggles. In another image, both appear already detained, before being transferred to the county jail. The report says Jesurun has open charges in the county.
In no video known so far is Ramón Jesurún seen assaulting anyone, and this is what his defense is based on in order to emerge unscathed from the process with the North American authorities and face the criticism that has been generated in the country.
Following the scandal, the 36 professional clubs affiliated with Dimayor issued a statement of support for the top leader of Colombian football.
For his part, the president of Dimayor and vice president of the FCF, Fernando Jaramillo, came to his defense: “The Federation, Dimayor and Difútbol have all officially supported the president in this difficult time that he and his family are going through and we believe that we will obviously discuss it within the Executive Committee when he is back, but our support for him and his management is important and definite. We cannot overshadow all the good things that happened to us during a difficult time that he has already explained, but what is important is what comes after, the process that we have been having, how important the consistency of the process is in all the selections… and that process is due to an effort led by President Ramón.”
