Citroën revealed the characteristics of the new C3 Aircross, which he shares with the C3 sedan the same stylistic identity. Both models are based on the platform Smart Cars, allowing a wide range of energy options and rationalizing costs. The C3 Aircross presents a radical change, offering onboard space extended up to 7 seats, a diverse range of engines and improved comfort. From a technical point of view the new model is equipped with engines thermal, hybrid or 100% electric.
The new Citroën C3 Aircross is 4.39 meters long, 23cm more compared to the previous version. The width is 1.79 meters and the height of 1.66 meters, ensuring better habitability. The wheelbase measures 2.67 metres, while the balanced proportions of the bodywork allow for a longer wheelbase.
The configuration allows you to accommodate up to 7 people, with two retractable seats in the trunk. The design of the rear panel ensures good habitability even for passengers in the third row.
Outside the design of the new Citroën C3 Aircross is inspired by that of the Oli concept car, the French brand’s manifesto for its current and future car lines. The front therefore presents square shapes and iconic full LED headlights with both a vertical and horizontal light signature, framed by the new Citroen logo.
The appearance is therefore that of an SUV that adapts to city spaces, with a high and horizontal bonnet, fenders and wider tracks, which accommodate big wheels with a diameter of 690 mm.
C3 Aircross 7-seater cockpit
The passenger compartment of the new Citroën C3 Aircross can accommodate up to 7 people, maintaining the same external dimensions. The 7-seater version guarantees easy access to the third row, with retractable seats which offer a loading surface flat when not used. Even with all seats unfolded, the trunk capacity is 40 litresexpanding to 330 litres in the 5-seater configuration.
The 5-seater version, without the retractable seats, offers more knee and elbow room, with a boot of 460 litres expandable to 1,600 litres with the rear seats folded down.
New Citroën C3 Aircross interior
In the interior, the new Citroën C3 Aircross inherits the work done on the new C3, presenting a cockpit modern, spacious and well equipped, further evolved from the concept Citroën C-Zen Lounge. The horizontal dashboard, complete with characteristic Citroën vertical vents, is divided into two levels: technical elements at the top and comfort at the bottom.
Known as Sofa Design, this area is covered in a special fabric and embellished with new areas of warm light. The absence of a telephone device in the upper section improves visibility for greater driving comfort and safety. Essential driving information is projected onto a head-up display, while the multifunction steering wheel is adjustable in height and inclination. The version You includes the Smartphone Station for wireless connection, while the version Max features a central touchscreen 10.25″ with wireless connectivity compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Comfort on board is guaranteed by the suspension Citroën Advanced Comfort, which adapt to any road condition. In addition to the standard spring and hydraulic shock absorber, these suspensions include progressive hydraulic buffers which act as secondary shock absorbers. Each shock absorber has two progressive stops, one for the compression and the other for the reboundensuring softness and comfort on small irregularities and effective damping on bumpy roads.
Furthermore, the C3 Aircross features new Advanced Comfort seatsequipped with a surface with 10-15 mm of extra foam and redesigned lateral support, ensuring maximum comfort over any distance.
Citroen C3 Aircross engines
The new Citroen C3 Aircross is available in versions with electric, 48 Volt hybrid and petrol engine. Specifically, the range includes the version Hybrid 136equipped with e-DCT automatic transmission.
The 48V hybrid system uses the engine 1.2 PureTech new generation 3-cylinder 100 kW/136 hpwith variable geometry turbocharger and Distribution chain. The Miller cycle engine is paired with an electrified automatic transmission e-CDT with an electric motor from 21 kW/28 HP it’s a 48V lithium battery under the floor.
CO2 emissions are reduced to 124 g/km (data pending approval). Alongside this hybrid system, a PureTech three-cylinder engine from is also available 1.2 liter 100 HP combined with the approved six-speed manual gearbox 7 euros.
Citroen e-C3 Aircross electric
The Citroën C3 Aircross a 5 seats it is also available in an electric version, with a 5000mA motor 83 kW/113 hp it’s a LFP battery (Lithium Iron Phosphate) from 44 kWhwhich guarantees an autonomy of over 300km (approval pending). The car reaches a maximum speed of 145 km/h. A version with one will be available in 2025 different batteryextending autonomy beyond 400km.
Charging is simplified thanks to the Mode 3 cable included as standard. Citroen ADAS on the new C3 Aircross
The Citroën C3 Aircross is equipped with a full range of ADAS systems and driver assistance technologies:
- Active safety braking: emergency braking system operational from 5 km/h to 135 km/h, to reduce injuries to passengers, pedestrians and cyclists.
- Active lane keeping assistance: active from 60 km/h, helps maintain the right distance from lane lines and takes corrective measures if the car veers.
- Driver alert: Detects oscillations that indicate drowsiness and issues prolonged visual and audible alerts as necessary.
- Traffic sign recognition: reads and displays speed limits in the driver’s field of vision, with the possibility of activating audible warnings.
- Front and rear parking sensors: collect data during maneuvers and warn of obstacles with visual and audible signals.
- Blind spot detection: signals the presence of vehicles in the blind spot via illuminated pictograms in the rear-view mirrors, active from 30 km/h.
- Reversing camera: Provides a rear view on the main screen, with colored grids to identify distance to obstacles and prevent collisions.

The new Citroën C3 Aircross is simplified with two main configurations: You And Max. The basic You trim includes as standard Citroën Advanced Comfort suspension, 6 airbags, manual climate control, Smartphone Station, active emergency braking, active lane keeping assistant, driver attention warning, cruise control with speed limiter, traffic recognition traffic signs, rear parking sensors, automatic headlight activation, driver’s seat height adjustment, electric front windows, 40/60 folding rear seat, LED headlightsdaytime running lights and 16″ wheels.
With the Pack Plusdetails of the setup are added Urban Bronze such as fabric/TEP seats + Happy tags, electric side mirrors with defroster, electric front windows with automatic lowering for driver and passenger, electric rear windows, eco-leather steering wheel, automatic climate control, automatic front wipers, 17′ rims‘, gloss black door pillars, tinted rear and rear windows, front and rear underbody protection plates, Gloss black roof barscolored clips, 10.25” central touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (wireless or wired mirroring), DAB digital radio, Citroen Connect BoxUSB-C socket on the dashboard, 6 speakers, rear parking sensors and rear camera.

Price, how much does the new C3 Aircross cost
The starting price of the new Citroen C3 Aircross in the thermal version could be included between 20,000 and 25,000 euros. Instead, the fully electric version could exceed 30,000 euros. The arrival in Citroen dealerships is scheduled for summer 2024.
