Second Vince Zampellaappointed as the new head of development of Battlefieldthe new chapter in development “can absolutely beat Call of Duty” in terms of sales and success with the public, also reporting that it will be different from Battlefield 2042, while not wanting to see the latest chapter as a failure.
It’s clear that Electronic Arts is banking heavily on the new Battlefield, which is at the centre of a truly colossal production which involves 4 teams at the same time, placing a person with enormous experience in the field like Vince Zampella in the role of maximum coordinator.
Zampella himself, ex-Activision and founder of Respawn Entertainment, veteran of the Call of Duty series, recently presented the new chapter of Battlefield in broad terms, already showing a first image.
A great rivalry
Presenting the new game in development, Zampella also launched into a possible comparison with the great rival in terms of first-person shooter, proving to be quite hopeful about the results achievable by the new chapter.
“If you look at the top Battlefield games, they’ve outsold Call of Duty and other games, back and forth,” Zampella explained.
“So I think it’s absolutely possible,” the head of Battlefield development said, referring to the possibility of beating Call of Duty. However, that’s not exactly the goal the team has set itself directly: “We don’t want to destroy Call of Duty,” he explained, “We’re creating something different and something that represents us,” but he confirmed that it’s “absolutely possible” for the new Battlefield to defeat Call of Duty.
To achieve this result, the new chapter seems to be something different from the last one seen: although Zampella does not want to see Battlefield 2042 as a failure, the new title will still be different.
