At times, Netflix users may have difficulties accessing content on the platform. The company guides that, among the reasons, there may be network connection problems, on the device, application or account. Here’s what to do in each case:
1 – Update
If your TV or Blu-ray player supports Netflix, but you can’t find the app, there’s likely an update available or a problem with the player. In this link it is possible to solve the problem.

2 – Account data
If you can’t sign in to Netflix, you can reset your password via email or text message if you’ve added your phone number to your account. If you have forgotten the email or phone number provided when you signed up, you can provide additional information online to recover your account at this link.
3 – Internet speed
See the recommended internet connection speeds for watching series and movies on Netflix:
Megabits per second recommendation | |
Standard Definition (SD) | 1 Mbps
NOTE: We recommend a faster connection for better video quality. |
High Definition (HD) | 720p: 3 Mbps
1080p: 5 Mbps |
4K/Ultra HD (UHD) | 15 Mbps |
“Check your internet connection speed, disconnect other devices leaving only the TV with Netflix connected to Wi-Fi or connect your TV with cable instead of Wi-Fi. This greatly improves performance and also eliminates packet losses that are frequent in the Wi-Fi connection”, guides telecommunications engineer Carlos Paiva.
4 – Device
If Netflix crashes or freezes while loading, but the device responds normally, it may be that some information stored on the device needs to be updated. See specific update instructions for each device type here.
