According to Kalın, Turkey expects Sweden in particular to take immediate action on the activities of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the country, and that the progress of Finland’s and Sweden’s NATO membership talks “now depends on the direction and speed with which these countries take action”.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg described Monday’s discussions as “constructive”.

“We will continue our discussions on Finland’s and Sweden’s NATO applications, and I hope we will find a solution as soon as possible,” Stoltenberg told AFP.
