National Guard locates weapons in Zacatecas Natural Park

During security and crime prevention patrols in the Sierra de Chapultepec Natural Parkin the municipality of Saín Alto, Zacatecas, Elements of the National Guard discovered a hidden arsenal.

The discovery occurred when the national guards, while touring the park, noticed a cavity in the ground approximately two meters deep. Inside, they found several black plastic bags containing metal objects wrapped in transparent plastic. Upon inspecting the bags, they confirmed the presence of five long weapons, 35 magazines and 810 useful cartridges of various calibers.

To secure the area and prevent any potential danger, the GN implemented a security device around the discovery. Despite efforts, it was not possible to identify those responsible for depositing the weapons.

All the seized material was delivered to the Federal Public Ministry agency in Zacatecas, where the relevant investigations will continue to determine its origin and possible links to criminal activities in the region.
