Vice Mayor Rakova: Demand for Employment Service Trainings for Entrepreneurs is Growing in Moscow
Over the past six months, about 11 thousand people have attended free educational trainings for those wishing to open their own business, which are held at the My Job employment center. This is 60 percent more than in the same period last year, said Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development.
We see that many Muscovites are thinking about starting their own business, but do not know where to start. Often difficulties are caused by registration, organization of document circulation, legal, tax and personnel issues, accounting and office work. In order to help citizens start their own business, the Moscow Employment Service conducts free trainings and master classes. Since the beginning of this year, about 11,000 residents of the capital have taken part in them, which is 60 percent more than in the same period last year. At the same time, the number of educational events has doubled – now their number reaches 230. The employment service not only helps to obtain the necessary knowledge and apply for self-employment, sole proprietorship or LLC, but also accompanies start-up entrepreneurs at the beginning of their journey. Specialists assist in promotion in the market, finding customers and reaching payback and first profit
The My Job Center holds 20 regular educational events for those who want to start their own business. A separate training pool is devoted to self-employment: “How to become self-employed? Instructions for use”, “Self-employment: all about taxes”, “All about pensions for the self-employed” and others. For those who want to get systematized knowledge about all aspects of the self-employed status at once, the My Job center has developed two author’s courses: “7 Steps to Starting Your Own Business” and “Personal Brand of the Self-Employed: from Idea to First Sales”.
Another thematic block is career guidance in business and the search for ideas. The My Job center conducts training testing “Find out what kind of entrepreneur you are”, a master class “Business idea: how to find and choose”, and other events.
A separate cycle of webinars and trainings is devoted to the organization of business processes. “Group consultation on organizing your own business” will help you decide on the choice of ownership and taxation system and learn about business support measures from the Moscow Government. The following events are also available to citizens: AUSN: New Tax Solutions for Small Businesses, Master of Delegation: How a Beginning Entrepreneur Learns to Set Tasks, Business Plan in 1 Day, Safe Partnership: How to Build Business Relationships with Partners the Right Way, and other.
Another area of business events is a detailed analysis of specific professions and areas of activity. For example, the regular project “I Am Self-Employed 2.0” every month pays attention to one of the popular niches: a photographer, an accountant, a marketer. In addition, the training “Make money on marketplaces” is of great interest to citizens.
The My Job Center not only helps citizens to start their own business. It is equally important to teach an entrepreneur to look for clients and earn money. This line includes trainings “Product advantages: find or formulate from scratch (Kano model)”, “How to stand out in the market and protect your brand: trademark, patent, copyright” and others.
In addition, the My Job center pays attention to such aspects of doing business as psychological support, financial literacy, and the balance of personal life and work. These issues are discussed in the master classes “Life and personal life: how to find a balance” and others.
In addition, thematic events are held every month with the participation of invited experts and business coaches. Over the past six months, the My Job center has conducted 34 such trainings on an exclusive basis.
