Nacional resists: it won 10 places in two games and now beat Jaguares

Atlético Nacional continues to react led by coach Pablo Repetto and achieved its second consecutive victory, this time, against Jaguares, whom it defeated 2-0 this Wednesday at the Atanasio Girardot stadium.

The victory allows Nacional to reach 16 points in the table, now with the calendar up to date, and was two points away from eighth place, which revives its chances of qualifying, five dates from the end of the round-robin phase.

Nacional had to wait until the second half to find the advantage. However, the match was already in their favor from the start, when they began to dominate the ball against a team that was trying to remain solid at the back.

The first dangerous action was for the locals, when Edier Ocampo scored a goal, but the play was annulled due to the side's offside. Then, Uruguayan Pablo Ceppellini had a couple of options that he couldn't make.

Jaguares, with a poor performance in Medellín this Wednesday, resisted as long as it could. In the 65th minute, Nacional finally found the advantage with a goal from Álvaro Angulo, in a play in which the intellectual actor was Emilio Aristizábal, who fought in the area to steal the ball and enable his teammate.

With the lead on the scoreboard, Nacional played more comfortable and calmer and managed to increase the lead in the 82nd minute, with a great finish from Óscar Perea after a great long pass from Ceppellini.

The end of the game was calm for the green team, despite having lost Perea by expulsion, shortly after the second goal, for hitting an opponent.

The result went terribly wrong for Jaguares, who are sinking further and further down the table, with three consecutive defeats. They lost the opportunity to cut ground on Deportivo Cali in the relegation zone.
