“The MSD Foundation has joined this project with great enthusiasm in reality since 2023. In 2023 we had given life, thanks to the advice of Professor Grignolio, to some video pills, small cartoons that in a minute and a half told what the One Health. And video pills that were broadcast in cinemas and through social media; therefore, in the meeting points where it is most possible to find the youth population 2024 we participated in this ‘One Health – Schools in Action’ project It starts precisely from the recognition of the information needs of young people. So there was a real survey on a sample of 1600 young people to understand and stimulate intelligence on this fundamental topic which is One Health”. This was said by Goffredi Freddi, director of the MSD Foundation, speaking today in the Refectory Hall of the Chamber of Deputies where the results of the ‘One Health Project – Schools in Action’ project were presented, a game for global health which involved 1,600 students of high schools throughout Italy.
“Young people are physiologically more inclined to embrace one of the dimensions of One Health which is the environmental one, but it is essential to also understand well the other dimensions which are those of human and animal health, because the interconnections are truly unavoidable. I have had the opportunity, as member of the jury, to see the works of the students who participated in this project and are truly full of creativity, sensitivity and innovation. So we hope that this project can be a small contribution to an engine of change, a transformation of society who always keeps the importance of the One Health theme at heart.” The initiative “has been extremely successful. So there are all the conditions to continue. We have had many important partners together, associations, institutions, schools and obviously the Foundation as sponsor of the project”, she concludes.
