Motorsports Six-time World Cup winner drove out in a warm-up round, survived a concussion

Track motorcyclist Marc Marquez suffered a concussion during a warm-up run. The stables criticize the new coating on the track.

Track motorcycling Six-time world champion in MotoGP Marc Marquez will not be able to drive in the second World Cup race of the season in Indonesia. The Spaniard was injured on Sunday in a race warm-up after driving violently off the track.

Investigations by the track’s medical staff and hospital confirmed that Marquez suffered a concussion. Marquez drove out on the seventh bend of the track, stumbled on his left hand after the air flight and hit his head.

The Indonesian race weekend was unlucky for Marquez as he crashed twice in Saturday’s time trial.

Multiple the world champion’s crashes raised doubts as to whether the coating on the new Mandalika track was in the condition required by the World Series. The track had been retreaded this spring as the teams criticized the track in February tests.

The MotoGP race, which was postponed due to rain, was shortened from 27 laps to 20 to withstand the heat of the wheels. The track temperature is over 40 degrees. The race was scheduled to start at 9 am Finnish time.

Indonesia has not competed in the World Championships in track motorcycling since the 1997 Jakarta race.

Italy won the Moto3 class race earlier today Dennis Foggia. Aki Ajon Spanish drivers in a stable run by Jaume Masia was the seventh and Daniel Holgado ninth. Thailand was number one in the Moto2 class Somkiat Chantra. Driving in the stable of Spanish drivers Augusto Fernandez was Fifth and Pedro Acosta ninth.
