After two days characterized by rain, the sun is finally shining on Misano, but the conditions in which the MotoGP riders faced this morning’s Warm-Up will hardly be similar to those they will find at 14, when the traffic lights go off to kick off. at the Grand Prix of Made in Italy and Emilia Romagna.
The temperature was quite low, with just 14 degrees on the asphalt, plus there were still several wet patches. Conditions that led practically everyone to go out on the track with a pair of soft tires, with the exception of Fabio Quartararo, who chose a medium at the rear. Same solution with which he had raced in Romagna also last month.
The fastest was Takaaki Nakagami, who has now become a specialist in the Warm-Up, in which he is often one of the fastest in recent outings. The Japanese of the Honda LCR made a big difference, because he was the only one capable of breaking the wall of 1’33 “in 1’32” 879.
Behind him, however, the two official Ducatis proved to be particularly on the ball, with poleman Pecco Bagnaia second with just over half a second delay and Jack Miller third with seven tenths of a second, despite the Australian having put together just five laps.
After the good second row conquered yesterday, Franco Morbidelli found positive responses even in the dry, placing his Yamaha in fourth position, last among the riders who paid less than a second behind Nakagami. Behind him, Iker Lecuona’s KTM completes the top 5.
Quartararo, who had just 8 laps, had to settle for the 11th time with a delay of 1 “6, but it is also true that in these conditions it didn’t make too much sense to take risks, given that today his is at stake. first match point, even if it will not be easy to realize it from 15th place on the grid.
A little further ahead of him are Marc Marquez’s Honda and Joan Mir’s Suzuki, which occupy ninth and tenth positions respectively. You have to scroll down to 15th place to find Andrea Dovizioso and his Yamaha Petronas, also behind the Ducati of wild card Michele Pirro.
All the other Italian riders are behind the lines: Enea Bastianini is 18th, Valentino Rossi 20th, Danilo Petrucci 22nd, with Luca Marini closing the group in 23rd place. Nothing alarming for the ducatista of the Sky VR46 Avintia, who will start from the front row today: he just completed 4 laps to check that everything was ok, but without taking the slightest risk.
