As usual, before each grand prix, the Repsol Honda team published a preview release with the expectations of the weekend and the impressions of the riders. On this occasion, however, the press release speaks of “five important days in Misano for the Repsol Honda team”, including the two days of testing that will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
In these tests, which are crucial to direct the evolution of the RC213V prototype for 2023, Honda hopes to count on the presence of Marc Marquez, in full recovery after the surgery he underwent three months ago in the United States. Even if no one doubts the presence of the driver in these tests, the suspense continues to be held in the team.
Marquez, who has already undergone four operations on his injured right arm in July 2020 in Jerez, received the ok from the doctors last Wednesday to start training normally. The eight-time world champion posted photos on his social media in the gym, on the running track and on a road bike and on a mountain bike. It is expected that he will soon be riding a street sports bike on some track to reconfirm that the bone has welded completely and is bearing the strength needed to ride a motorcycle.

“A weekend of racing and a two-day test at Misano give Pol Espargaro and Stefan Bradl five days of activity on the track to fine-tune the Honda RC213V”, explains the Repsol statement, in which no mention is made of the presence of the Cervera pilot.
In Honda they ensure that they respect the rider’s decision and that, at the moment, they don’t know if he will be present at Misano. However, the team hopes there is, if only to make a few days and start paving the way for next year’s prototype development.
As Alberto Puig explained in an interview with DAZN, “the Misano test is crucial, given that information will be gathered there to build the bike that the riders will test in the Valencia test”. This will take place at the end of the season and there will be the same Marquez, already recovered, together with the newcomers Joan Mir, who will race in the official team, and Alex Rins, who will wear the LCR-Honda colors.
