Marc Marquez got on the Honda RC213V this morning, as planned by the team. Punctually at 9:45 he got back on his bike, the same one from which he got off 100 days ago after the Mugello race. In recent weeks, the Spanish rider has undergone his fourth operation on his right arm, a rehabilitation process, a lot of anxiety and uncertainty, and two tests on a road bike before returning to the MotoGP bike.
The Catalan made his first outing on the track with this year’s bike to get feeling and verify that the arm responds with enough force to control a 300 horsepower “beast”. In his first run, rider number 93 completed 6 laps with a best time of 1’33 ”561, making a second run with the same number of laps but lowering the time to 1’32” 848. In total he has completed a dozen laps in 40 minutes since he got on his prototype. The feeling is that everything seems to be working correctly.

At the moment, Honda has only shown one unit of the 2023 RC213V, an all-black bike that was, in the first hour of testing, in the hands of Stefan Bradl. The tester completed the first 18 laps by signing a time of 1’33 ”363. We learn that this new bike will go to Marquez’s garage during the lunch break (from 1pm to 2pm) and will be prepared for the Spanish. If everything continues as it is now, Marc will come out with that in the afternoon to start giving the first indications.
A new prototype of the KTM 2023, driven by Dani Pedrosa, was also brought to the track. The Spaniard, in his first 11 laps, lapped in 1’34 ”589.
